this is our FAVORITE spot to get breakfast sammies for the office staff. The standard kaiser roll with meat of choice, eggs, & cheese is a go-to, but we have been known to jazz it up by swapping out to another breadchoice or adding a hashbrown when feeling very fancy. Onsite you'll find lots of gifts, kitchen goods, crafts and the like. I am partial to the store's own Orange Marmalade and am itching to try the Apple Pie Bourbon jam next. Also - the desserts from this spot!? they have been popping up at other local businesses and I can't say no to the carrot cake when I see it on a menu. Always good.

Wonderful hidden gem. Great coffee, amazing breakfast sandwich and right across the road a great view to sit and enjoy it all. Thank you Fran for putting up with us and letting me bring my puppy in. I can't wait to come back. The crazy lady from NC lol

There's a sign outside the store that reads "Area's Best Breakfast Sandwich". You know, what? They're right. Not just that, but you get some bang for your buck as their sammy's (at least the one I had) were loaded and reasonably priced fer sure. From the outside and when you walk it it looks like a...little country store. And indeed it is, with the kinda stuff you find at a country store along with some locally made items. Everything from fishing bait to jars of pickled things. But behind the counter is a nice lady who not only runs the register, but also takes and makes your food to order. So taking that in account, it may take a minute, but really not that long. Seriously I've had drive through's take longer. Anyhoo, off their menu my eyes immediately went to a sammy called The Widow Maker. I mean with a name like that how could one resist? Here's the menu description: "WIDOWMAKER Breakfast Sandwich Are you HUNGRY? This will definitely fill you up! 2 eggs + cheese with all 3 meats (Sausage Patty, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Black Forest Ham).' Sounds like a lot and not just that, it looked like a lot. And to top it off, it tasted as good as it reads. Definitely filled me up. Can't speak of the other items on the menu, but the party I was with ordered different items and I can attest that they were just as happy with their food as I was. And though this isn't a sit down type of establishment, you can take your food to go, walk across the street with your sammy and coffee, find a picnic table and enjoy a nice view of the Mohawk River. Weather depending of course.

Got a sausage egg and cheese, it was delicious and huge. Will definitely come back for a chicken sandwich. They had a good selection of drinks and snacks too. Service was fast and friendly. You can sit outside to eat.

Yummy and convenient to I90, very friendly service, and cool "roadside shack" vibe. We stopped for lunch while heading west on I90 and it was less than 5min off the highway and worth the very short detour. Lunch menu is limited to grilled chicken sandwiches and a few quiche options. The chicken sandwich is fresh grilled and served on a bulky roll with pickles and cole slaw. The cole slaw, which is home made, is delicious and "makes" the sandwich. I got mine with mayo and my wife got hers with the rooster spicy sauce. They were very excellent! The store itself also sells fresh baked goods, ice cream, dairy products and various bottled goods like pickles and marinades, as well as locally roasted coffee varieties. Some picnic tables outside if you want to eat there.

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever eaten. Don't be swayed by the building!

From last summer - Great place for an excellent chicken sandwich after a painting class at Mabee Farm. Sat outside and people watched and enjoyed ourselves. Rustic and charming. Took a while for the food, but it was worth it.

First time getting a sandwich from the hungry chicken. My husband and I each ordered the veggie with sausage. It did not disappoint, the sandwich is huge and it takes a little while to get the whole thing down... But it's worth every bite We will be going again definitely.

I stopped by on a whim and was greeted by a friendly face who recommended the banana nut loaf. I spied cinnamon rolls so got two of those. Then saw fancy Mexican chocolatso got some of that. The cinnamon roll was fabulous! So tender, the cinnamon sugar syrup was oozing out the bottom and the cream cheese frosting was just tangy enough to notice but not dominate! So many times cinnamon can be skimpy and the bun overdone! Not this one, I thought it was perfect. Was so surprised and delighted how good it was. With the precedent set, I'm sure the babana nut loaf will also be delicious. Considering riding my bike on the bike path out there this week to get some lemon soft serve!
